Q. How can I donate to WCDC and is my gift tax deductible?
You can “click on” right here on our web page and give a gift online using an appropriate credit card. This is the best way to buy tickets to our annual event.

You can go to www.imaneastsider.org and learn about WCDC’s “I’m An Eastsider” campaign, and choose an option for giving. See “About Us” for details.

You can donate your volunteer time, your companies’ professional services, or an auction prize for our annual fundraiser. See “About Us” for details.

Your gift is 100% tax deductible if it is an outright gift. If it is a ticket purchase for our fundraising event, a portion of it is tax deductible.

If you write a check directly to the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan and designate it for the “Warren/Conner Development Coalition’s Endowment Fund” you will receive a direct Michigan State Income Tax Credit for up to $400.

Q. What is the WCDC Endowment Fund?
The WCDC Endowment Fund is housed at, and managed by, the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan. It is a permanent fund to which anyone can dedicate a gift, at any time. WCDC receives the interest earned from the fund, in the amount of 5% of the principal balance. If the Endowment Fund actually earns more than 5%, the excess is put into principal so that it can generate more interest the following year. If the Endowment Fund actually earns less than 5%, WCDC still receives 5% of the principal, and the principal amount is reduced. The principal amount in the WCDC Endowment Fund is generally between $500-550,000.

Q. What qualifies me to vote as a WCDC member?
You can vote if you pay dues of $25 as an individual or $100 as an organization; and if you live, work, volunteer or do business on Detroit’s Eastside – anywhere east of Woodward in Detroit.

Q. What if I want to give directly to one of WCDC’s Affiliate Partners?
You can do so by going to their section of this web site. Most of them are tax exempt non profits, making your gift tax deductible. A mere $5 will qualify you as a member of one of our Affiliate Partner organizations.

  • Working our reception desk, greeting visitors, answering the phones and opening our parking lot gate
